Family Focus Medical: Mixed Billing Policy

Family Focus Medical is committed to providing high-quality, holistic healthcare to our community. To sustain this level of care, we operate as a mixed billing practice as of Feb 2025. This means that while we offer bulk billing to certain patient groups, other consultations will incur a private fee combined with the rebate issued from Medicare or your private health insurance.

Who is Impacted by Private Billing?

Patients who do not meet the criteria for bulk billing will be charged a mixed consultation fee.

  • Medicare Patients: Patients with a valid Medicare card who do not fall into the bulk billing categories listed below will be charged a mixed consultation fee for their consultations.

  • Patients Without Medicare: These patients are billed according to their specific insurance provider's rates. If no insurance is applicable, they are charged the standard private practice rate.

  • Specific Consultations: Certain services, such as those related to the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA), are billed at standard private rates regardless of Medicare status.

Who is Eligible for Bulk Billing?

Our practice provides bulk billing for specific services and patient groups to ensure accessible care for those with the greatest need.

  • Standard Consultations: We typically bulk bill standard consultations for children, pension card holders, and healthcare card holders. (Note: Please confirm specific age brackets or card types with our reception team).

  • Specific Health Services: The following services are generally bulk-billed at our practice:
