Fees and billing

We would like to advise that Family Focus Medical has move to mixed billing from 3/2/2025.

Since the medicare freeze from 2013, medical practices have continued as long as possible to absorb the cost of providing ongoing healthcare, and have tried as long as possible to hold off passing on cost to patients.  Unfortunately to be able to keep our staff paid, bills covered, and the lights on, it has become unsustainable to continue as purely bulk billed practice, while striving to maintain the best possible ongoing care to those we are here to bless, our patients.

Due to this, we have made the difficult decision to transition to mixed billing to be able to continue the viability and sustainability of Family Focus Medical ongoing into the future. We appreciate this will impact all people differently, and we completely understand if patients prefer to transfer their care to another practice.  In these situations we will seek to support you in any transition you need, with a transfer of records when we have received an official request from your new practice.

Pensioners, health care card holders, children <16yo and DVA card holders will still be bulk billed. A schedule of fees will be available via reception.GP management plans/Team Care Arrangements/reviews and Mental Health Care Plans/reviews will continue to be bulk billed. We will otherwise seek to make our fees as reasonable as possible, while trying to maintain the ongoing sustainability of Family Focus Medical as a practice.

We greatly appreciate everyone’s understanding and support during this time.

If you have further questions about this please feel free to reach out to our staff or doctors to discuss this further.  We look forward to providing high level and compassionate care to the people of our community for as long as we possibly can.

An indication of our fees are as below, although these may change at various times, and you can talk with our reception about our most up to date fee schedule:
